The enrollment, billing, and support privacy notices provide our customers with a detailed look at how personal data is collected and processed when enrolling for a Norton service or accessing support. Enrollment and Support

The enrollment process applies to all customers who are purchasing their Norton and LifeLock products and standalone features through the Norton eStore or by calling into a Norton contact center. This information is only collected once and is used to set up your account. Additional information may be collected at the discretion of the customer to maintain the account during the subscription to the product.

Support related information is only collected if you contact us for assistance through support channels such as online chat, email, phone, text, and online forms. Additional information may be collected at the discretion of the individual contacting support to help assist in the support process.

Account Data: This data is processed to authenticate, administer, and maintain the account and product subscription as well as to communicate with you.

Device Data may include:

  • Device ID (while active or 36 months)
  • Device Name (while active or 36 months)
  • Norton account ID (while active or 36 months)
  • Date Timestamp (while active or 36 months)

Website Data may include:

  • Cookies from websites (while active or 12 months)

Location data including:

  • IP address (30 days)

Support Data including:

  • Support Request (2 years)
  • Call date and time (2 years)
  • Call identification number (2 years)
  • Call recordings (3 months)
  • Support steps taken (2 years)
  • Restoration case data (5 years)

Device Data: This data is used and generated internally at Norton for the purpose of tracking account activity and licensing between internal company systems, applications, and architecture.

Website Data: This data is processed for the purposes of delivering the content in accordance with your device(s), and monitoring website activity from you (cookies).

Location Data: This data is processed for the purpose of determining the closest servers and appropriate content delivery settings for communicating with you.

Support Data: This data is processed for the purpose of providing support to you.

Norton does not collect any other data for enrollment processes from any third parties.

Support Data including:

  • Restoration case data (5 years)

Security Data may include:

  • Caller ID (2 years)

Security Data: This data is processed to determine the authenticity of the caller identification.

Billings Process

The Billing process applies to all customers who have purchased products and/or standalone features through the Norton eStore or by calling into a Norton contact center. This information is used to bill the customers for their services and products on a regular interval. For products purchased through other methods, such as Norton 360 App for Apple and Android, this information will not apply.
